This is one way a habit can become permanent. Caffeine can also exacerbate or worsen this. Which can become a cycle of having insomnia and drinking caffiene to counteract the fatigue.

I have stopped and gotten rid of many Tics I personally have had. All by switching my attention to a more healthy habit. Other than the old controlling bad habits.
When you feel a tic happening. Think of a calm refreshing act. This will reset your mind and actions when doing this. This action will be reinforced in your head. Easing all the anxiety and triggers for your Tics.
When eating with anxiety eat complex carbohydrates, nutrient dense food and limit the amount of alcohol and caffiene you use.
