Instant Gratification

 Short Term Goals

      Vs

Long Term Goals

The Pros and Cons

In this article I will be explaining and comparing the pros and cons of both long term and short term goals.

Short term goals: these are goals that have instant gratification. These accomplishments give a quick rewarding feeling. The thing about these achievements is that the moment is quick and the rush of excitement is short lived. Once the fun fades; that's it.

Long term goals: These are goals that may take anywhere from one month to years to reach and complete. These types of goals can be very rewarding once you reach the goal. It helps out with other aspects of life. Like social skills and how you handle bad habits. Long term goals are like a bank of joy; that mentally you can always play back in your mind. With the same rush of emotions you had as when you first reached the milestone. Coming to you.

Short term goals: This type of instant gratification can form a loop of addiction chasing behavior. Because it's convenient and easy to act upon those impulses.

Long term goals: Because long term goals take so long to reach; it makes it easier to get discouraged and impatient. Also you may be filled with doubt. Coming from others and yourself about what you are capable of.
